I won’t need a toaster as long as I know there is one somewhere in the hotel that they are happy for us to use. We will manage if we are able to use facilities like this. I was just asking if anyone had got one before. It would be handy if they will allow us to use a microwave too. Her diet is so restricted that if we couldn’t it would be a real worry.

Thankfully it was mid afternoon and many guest were out, personally I wouldn’t use one in the room
I would also buy the toaster pocket bags from Lakeland or similar which are washable and won’t make a mess of the toaster.
That’s a good idea because she can’t eat the burnt bits and there probably wouldn’t been any if it was in a pocket bag.

Plus the restaurants are incredibly accommodating, I have food intolerances due to IBS and they are usually spectacularly helpful - I can't eat garlic, onions, cooked tomatoes or bell peppers, and when we dined at Sanaa (with friends - not my choice!), that was pretty much most of their menu! The chef came out to have a chat with me and I ended up with the most amazing steak with jasmine rice and broccoli, yum!

Hope you have a wonderful time!
Funnily enough it’s garlic and onions that are the worst for the parosmia. She can’t eat meat either. I can count on one hand what she can manage! 😢 your steak sounds lovely and in normal circumstances she would love that meal.

Have you spoken to anyone about smell training. It can help with both parosmia and anosmia.

Thanks Yes she’s trying that. I’m an avid reader on the AbScent website and smell training is something recommended on there. The poor girl hasn’t eaten properly since Christmas. 😢

Kat
We have a couple of people(in our pharmacy) who lost their sense of taste and smell last year in Apr due to covid.

One regained theirs after about 2 - 3 months of smell training done religiously every day. The other is going to try it, because she has still not regained hers properly after a year.

Told off for asking for a toaster in your room! Whoever said this has never been in a DVC studio then as they have both a toaster & microwave- we use them all the time for breakfast

They have toasters in the food halls in Pop, All stars and Riverside if you need to use one. We love toasted bagels and cream cheese for breakfast.
