Owners have sold villa
I've just had a message from the villa owners to say that they are just about to sell the villa which we had initially booked for this July and transferred to next June due to Covid.
They have assured me that the new owners already have a number of properties in the same area, and are with the same management company and have agreed to honour all current bookings which will include ours next year. Should I be worried, i've heard horror stories where this happens and then when you arrive having paid £££s the villa is not available. Very stressed out at the moment, and don't know what to do

Have a word with the management company as it’s the same one ... or the new owners.
Sounds like the new owners have several for investment, most issues seem to be when the new owners want to live in the property themselves. Edited at 08:39 PM. |

I think this is going to happen a lot. Try not to worry. Make contact with the new owners and just tell them you are looking for reassurance about your booking. You could also ask them if they have plans to make any changes to the villa.

Just had a very similar email (possibly same villa)
We had booked for this May and moved to next May. I totally understand the owners, just not sure what to do! |

Sounds like it will be ok, but for peace of mind, I'd suggest contacting the management company or the new owners

The best thing to do is contact the new owners once you have their details to check that your booking is still going ahead as planned.
I know it's easy to say not to stress but please just take a breath and wait t hear from the new owners. Steve |

We bought ours with bookings, we contacted every one and a couple are still returning almost 13 years later.

As above, try to contact the new owners and the management company.
I would also suggest that you ensure that your deposit has been carried over to the new owners, and that they will honour the price and contract... e.g. if you had come to an agreement about pool heat, etc. Edited to add: try not to worry too much (unavoidable, I know), but it all sounds above board to me and Im sure all will be ok

I think you will be fine, as the owners have contacted you to say what has happened and reassured you the new owner has other property's and is with the same management company.
I would think the new owner would be in touch soon, probably waiting for the old owner to contact everyone, as Steve said try not to stress give it a few days and see if you get the new contact details. It sounds as if it is all well in hand and your booking will be the same, just a new owner.
