Yes, but I think it's fair to say that your much more likely to get held up at MCO. It's busier more often. But you might get lucky or unlucky at either.

Comes down to cost for me.

MCO can take a while, but if you have been before there are ways to do things far quicker.

One getting bags, while one of you getting the car for example really speeds things up. We were once in and out in 25 mins.

Far more to do at MCO than Sanford, but they have the nice lounge to stay in.

Seriously - it's simply down to price. It's only a place where you get a plane.

I'm going on a solo trip next year and can't drive so it'll be Orlando International for me - looking forward to the Magical Express coach ride :-)

We landed at Sanford yesterday for the 1st time. I had heard security was really quick but it took us an hour from joining queue (in middle) until getting to hire car.
Loved the fact no 2nd bag drop and it was an easy drive.

Sanford doesn't have many international flights these days, unlike MCO. Arrived in our hotel about 45 mins later, so exit plane to Cabana Bay within 60 mins. Never expected that. Never got out of MCO within 60 mins and it reminded me why I used to prefer landing at Sanford. Maybe lucky with customs and traffic on I4, but that was a record for me. Last time at MCO they wouldn't let us off the flight for 30 mins, due to Immigration hall crowding, so Sanford remains my preferred airport, but unfortunately Thomson is normally more expensive, so a route I will not use often.
Wow! That is quick, so glad we are flying into Sanford now after reading this! We waiting 2hrs at MCO and JFK and just assumed this is the norm for american immigration.
