I remember teletext holidays. Our 2000 trip was booked on there. £350 each for two weeks in the rodeway inn on I drive, flying with American trans air (never heard of them before or since) and stop to refuel in Gander, Canada 😂

This is really interesting for a newbie planning their first trip.

Currently looking at:
Direct flights €3750
3 nights HDH plus Universal 3 day park to park tickets €2300
10 nights OKW with DDP and ultimate tickets €4700

So €10750 (9137 GBP)
2285 GBP PP

We always find about £2000pp which includes everything from flights, food, accommodation, tickets etc.
If we get one thing cheaper, something else always costs more.
This year we got flights for £550 each but onsite will cost more due to the exchange rate. We are also doing Universal onsite for a few days which adds up quickly.

Teletext was how I discovered Travel City Direct! We used them for years after that until (luckily) the year they went bust we did DIY.

So true. At least that is what I say.

My DH would say that I cannot save a saving and have to spend it on something else

Good old Teletext! That company were known as ATA Airlines post American Trans Air apparently. They went under quite a few years ago but Southwest is a parent company...

July 2012 - £2,000pp 14 nights OKW, 5 sharing a 2-bed villa with DDP inc direct PE flights & Disney tix. Could have saved a bundle if we all shared a studio but might have cost the life of one of the kids

Aug 2014 - £2,500pp 21 nights SSR, 5 sharing a 2-bed villa with DDP inc direct Eco flights & Disney tix.

March 2017 - £1,700pp - 12 night 3-centre holiday with 3 nights Holiday Inn Universal, 6 nights ASM with DDP and 3 nights I-Drive inc indirect Eco flights, Universal and Disney tix.
