Banking points question

Forgive me if this has been asked a million times before!

DH and I just got back from wdw and had a very convincing DVC tour. It kind of makes perfect sense that we invest, we were so close to buying 100 points at Copper Creek!

I have a question regarding banking-
As I understand it, if we had 100 points we didn’t want to use that year, we can carry them forward to the next year. Same deal with the year ahead- we can borrow from the year ahead so technically one year we could have 300 points if we wanted..

DH was under the impression that we could keep carrying forward the points year to year if we wanted to save them up for a longer trip.
Is this the case or do we have a time limit on using them? I thought we could only use them within that 3 year period (wouldn’t make sense to own DVC otherwise!)

You can never have more than 300 points at once.
(Assuming you own 100)

At anyone time you can only use last years / this years / next years.

As Bev has said maximum 3 years points.

Once you bank points they must be used the year you moved them into they cannot be banked again.

But you can bank the new current year. So you can roll up to 100 points forward continuously.

OP I'm sure that you had a convincing tour, we all have, after all what's not to like ! But it's very easy to buy whilst wearing those Rose tinted Mickey glasses

But do your homework, if you are still at the stage where, & please don't take this the wrong way, you are still asking about "bank, use, Borrow" then you might want to do more homework as you are about to spend £15k. I'm assuming your 100 points are to use at a Studio? Studios at the likes of CC are at a premium so you are really looking at booking at the 11 month window every time- does this suit you? Have you considered Resale? They have changed some of the rules regarding this but it doesn't affect the first 14 resorts, including Copper.

I meant the same points cannot be banked a second time, I probably didn’t word it correctly.
