My elderly mother lives 4 hours away. Nobody around to help her. After sitting on the computer for many hours finally managed to get a click and collect slot in a town 25 miles away for the 10th April. She cannot leave the house so now searching for a taxi company to go get it for her.

Her current food situation won't get her beyond Tuesday.

Options are stark for all.

They may have been looking to minimise route distances, driver rang me for my last one saying that since he was delivering down the road he could drop ours at the same time (an hour before time slot) if we were home.

Does she have any neighbours that might be able to help? Down our road we’ve got a network of people who have offered to get shopping for people, check on elderly neighbours etc

Hope she gets sorted - I hate to think of people sitting at home stressing over this type of situation 🙁

This is what I was meaning in my previous post. People like your mother need to be prioritised - although I am not sure how this would work to be honest.

Thank you all. I wasn't meaning to be a moaning Minnie, not to take away the OPs frustration. It was just my own frustration with the situation boiling over.

She lives in a a very old community and many are not going out at all. So not really agile and out ward bound neighbours even if willing.

It's south Lincolnshire area. I am going to get in contact with local volunteering group and possibly mp by email today to see what can be done. Up until yesterday she has been insisting she is ok. But it came out a bit yesterday. Family conflab by whatsap later will see what we can arrange.

Have managed to negotiate her an essentials package with Amazon for weds so immediate pressure off.

Have you looked at Wiltshire Farm Foods who deliver ready made meals. I had a look on their website. It is closed to new customers but if your mother has a letter from the Govt confirming she is vulnerable then they help (I think).
