How long on average should you wait for a villa owner to reply?
We've paid our deposit for our villa holiday in May, the balance is due this weekend. I emailed the owner a week ago asking them to send me paypal info etc so I can make payment but haven't recieved a reply as yet. I emailed again a couple of days ago to make sure he'd recieved the first email also, but again no reply.
The money is burning a hole in my pocket and really want to get it paid but just wondered if anyone thinks it's concerning that they aren't replying? When I was booking the villa the emails were back and forth really quickly. xx |

They might be away or their Internet may be off for some reason.
Do you have a contact number for them, if you do I would call them. Could you not pay the same method that you paid the deposit? If you have no number can you find one, but of detective work via Google?

Hi, I can understand your concern. Even if their internet is down, these days people can often pick up emails via their phone using 3G etc. I probably would feel uneasy about paying more money without contact from the owner. As someone else has said, I would call and check that everything is ok. I' sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation but I can sympathise as I would be feeling impatient too!

Have you not got a contact number for the villa owner. I always provide a contact number just in case if they need to speak to me. It is possible that your email could have ended up in the spam folder and generally people don't always check this folder.

Ok, I have just freaked myself out even more. I've just checked the listing online and only the first week of our holiday is showing as the villa being unavailable. Surely that means anybody could still book the second week that we have booked for? #worried xx

Save yourself unnecessary stress and telephone the owner NOW. I would definitely speak to the owner before parting with your money to make sure your dates are secure. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Personally I answer as oon as I get a message, no more than a few hours though
Just ring, better to speak to them in person than worry, I wouldn't pay a single penny more until you know where you stand Sandra |

Thanks everyone. I've just tried calling and the number I have (a US number) is saying the mailbox is full, so I wasn't able to even leave a message. Really don't know what to do for the best?

IMO. I'd look for a new villa.
