Does everyone in the party have to have AP?

Hi
DD and I seem to be averaging about once a year in Orlando and I was just wondering whether both of us need to have a Disney AP to get the benefits or whether just one of us will be enough?
TIA

Awesome! Thank you!
We have 14 day ultimates, so the plan is to upgrade one ticket after our first visit and then if I've worked this out correctly, we'll then get free parking and the 10% discounts at restaurants/shopping etc.
I will have to do the maths though...
I wonder whether it also gives you a discount on the food/drinks for Food & Wine?
Thanks

Crunch the numbers, I think on a single holiday it's probably close value wise- as far as your Ultimate, it's not what you paid for it but the wholesale price from Disney.

We're looking at this too. I was wondering:
the plan is to upgrade one ticket after our first visit
Why after the first visit, and not right away so that you can start getting the benefits immediately during your first visit?

Sorry - I think - and I may have completely misunderstood this - that you need to have had at least one park visit before you can upgrade.

Hopefully someone will tell me if that's not true and I'll happily upgrade one of the tickets at DS before we go as we've got a couple of unplanned days before we go to our first park.

I don't think that you have to have used them, I recently asked a question about FP+ in relation to our 21 day Ultimate & upgrading to AP, we have a 31 night holiday booked , & their reply was to go to Guest Services as soon as we arrive. I know that if you have used a day at a water park then you must upgrade to Platinum plus.

Thank you, Shooby - I must have been thinking about the water parks then. We don't do water parks so that isn't something to factor in

Just thinking about a single AP between 2 guests and wondering what benefits you'd lose for the non-passholder.
disneyworld.disney.go/en...ent-discounts/

Presumably you would not be able to use the AP holders gate to enter the parks.
Also you would not get discounts that state specifically that they are for the passholder only and things like bike rentals and spa treatments.
What about tours such as the Keys to the Kingdom Tour?

Thank you for pointing these out - I hadn't really thought about those! Also, what is the AP holders gate? Have I just not noticed these?
