By the way, if you know where they are getting in, put some wire wool in the hole(s) they hate that stuff!

Excellent suggestion. It appears to be into the kitchen through a hole under the cooker. Didnt want to put expandable foam here in case it over heated but wire wool should be ok.

My concern is though that they are therefore inside the wall.and I dont know how they are getting into there. Need to find the external hole and foam that. But no sign.

Worried about wiring a bit.

If you put the wire wool (or those wire sponges for scouring) into the hole behind the cooker they may decide to move out anyway if they can’t get to the food source?

Ideally yes, or they may go looking elsewhere. They are annoying but seemingly contained at the moment.

Will see how we go. 🤨

I’m not sure of the name but if you google sonic rodent deterrent they will come up , they have them in places like Homebase, B & Q , Amazon, I think my mum got hers from Argos but she’s had it a long time.

Was watching the local news on television this evening and a man was having problems in his shed and wondered if he had a 'ghost'. Film showed that a mouse was tidying up small bits he had left on his work bench and placing what he could move into an ice cream box thus tidying up the work space. He has decided that he will continue to let the mouse clean his work bench each day as it saves him the job of doing it. The film was really cute.

In my sleep deprived state, when I started reading this I thought you meant an actual moose was coming into your kitchen and I was trying to figure out how you wouldn’t notice!

... aaaand then I got to the sentence about it not being a rat and the penny dropped 😂
