September flights, cost
We have family flying out from Glasgow in September but the flights just don’t seem to be coming down at the moment, does anyone know if there’s a Virgin/BA sale coming up? In the past they have flown BA via Gatwick for under £500, can’t get anywhere near that price. We have two coming out on the 20th till the 2nd and seven coming out from the 22nd till the 3rd, the second lot could come out on the 21st if needed. Any ideas?

We are looking for similar dates (flying out on the 15th or 22nd) and waiting for the price to drop.
The recent BA sale was disappointing for us so now waiting for Thomas Cook to hopefully drop to around £400/450 each. We would prefer to fly with TC as the flight arrives early and is also direct. Prices with Air France/KLM are available for around £400 each via Amsterdam but we are prepared to hold off until TC price drops. |

Due to a potential change of plans I've been pricing with BA for October and the fly drives are coming in at about £700 (including one week school holidays). The most we've paid in the past is £550 last May booked 8 weeks before but at the moment Edin-Gat-MCO including luggage and car seems to hover around £600-£700 even for flights just released for next year.
Unfortunately due to medical reasons I wasn't in a position to book when the flights were first released or December sale as the same dates I'm pricing up now were at £400 so hefty increase even allowing for changes in $$ . We've priced up from Manchester too but the overall holiday price works out similar to BA so looking like will have no choice but to pay this as DH doesn't fancy layover in USA or more than 2 flights. Overall though even when pricing for alternative holidays (albeit not an option in poster's case) prices seem high compared to last year. On checking the BA Sale Archives they seem to have one most years at the end of August but this will be too late. It certainly seems that the early bird gets the best price with BA nowadays. I booked a couple of weeks ago and had to change to EDI to MAN with Virgin (instead of my normal LGW with BA) and got £466.32 for economy classic for 9th to 23rd Sep so maybe play around with you connection as well.

We booked VA last week, price per adult was £420 for LGW > MCO on Economy Classic which includes luggage and seat selection. This was for 20th September until 4th October.
If you are able to book a cheap internal flight separately then that might be an option for you? I would keep an eye on prices daily, as ours fluctuated between £420-£490. We bit the bullet when they were £420 as we were happy with that price, and couldnt image getting lower with VA including luggage as well! You should also set up a price alert with skyscanner or kayak if not already done so, so you get alerted via email as soon as the price changes. |

There’s soo good prices on Kayak but with two people in their 70, two under 10’s and a couple not keen on flying I’m trying to make it as simple as possible for them

The travel agent said there should be another BA price drop/sale in April. KLM have good prices but after a bit of a nightmare when trying to book with them last year I’ve been put off using them! Good luck with your search.
