Krakow Advice? Kazimierz Area
Evening Dibbers
We have just booked our first visit to Krakow, having been recommended it so many times over the years. We have booked an apartment in the Kazimierz area, and everything seems to be within reasonable walking distance. Can any experienced Dibbers advise on the best way to get from the airport? On our to do list is Auschwitz, and Wawel Castle- any other recommendations? We will be with our adult kids (22,21,20) so will be sampling some polish beers and hopefully some great food too 😊

Train from the airport is very simple and costs around £1.50 each. I think a taxi is around £18 but will take you right to the door. We always train then walk as we know where we are going (maps function on iPhone will get you there ).
Auschwitz-Birkenau, Salt mines, Wawel castle, Schindlers factory. The cloth hall, the underground museum in the old town, Pope John Paul museum, Lost Souls Alley... there is plenty to chose from. Be sure to leave some time for wandering around and sitting in the square people watching. We adore Krakow. Have a fabulous time. |

Thanks so much, that’s all great info! I had a quick look at the train but it seems out hotel is a 35 min walk from the station, which may be a bit much with cases? Probably need to research that further.
Thanks again for the tips 👍🏻

I strongly recommend going on a food and drink tour, great way to experience local culture and traditions.
Also the free walking tours are superb, you can pre book and they start in the Old Square, just give a tip at the end. They are extremely interesting and informative. I travelled in and out from Airport to the main station as my hotel was only a few minutes from there...I would say you will be about a 15 minutes walk from there Edited at 09:51 AM. |

Uber to your apartment would work . I've just looked and in October we paid 26 zloty £5.25 . You will need a larger vehicle so price will be a bit more .
Definitely add salt mines to your list , we loved it . Be prepared for aching legs the next day though . |

We've used a company called krakowtrip.com three times for picking us up at the airport, taking us back and the various trips including Auschwitz and the Salt mines (tip, do these of different days). Great service, they will give you an e mail quote.
