Fuengirola?

Hello all,

We have booked to go to Fuengirola at the end of July.

Never been before so does anyone have any top tips?

We'll be travelling as a group of 6 - 4 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 11.

We used to go to Mijas all the time on holiday when my kids were little, which is just up the road. Biggest tip is to hire a car, the area is huge and there is so much around just outside of Fuengirola. We would often walk down to Fuengirola for dinner in the evenings along the beach, if you like fish restaurants there are so many to chose from, especially on the beach. There is a water park which is ok, not huge and gets really busy in the summer, not overly expensive to get in. Drive up to mijas pueblo to the white village which gives beautiful views. The town square is very pretty and if you go into the old town it’s equally as pretty. Go to one of the smaller beaches rather than the main one in Fuengirola, gets really busy in the summer months!

We lived in Coin which is 25 mins away. But it was 15 years ago so things may have changed but fuengirola zoo was very good , hire a car and go to mijas which is very pretty . Also the marina at benelmadena and the one at Puerto banus
In benelmadena town is Tivoli world , the kids may enjoy that,
Also you can drive to Gibraltar, takes about an hour, and to nerja to the caves, Also about an hour.
We used to go to the marbella gun and country club, that had spectacular views a swimming pool and nice food.
If you were a fan of the biggest soap flop Eldorado then its on the road from mijas to coin . But it's not up to much. However what was the last house on the right was ours, we had a pool with Mickey mouse in the bottom! Wonder if he's still there 🤣

The children may enjoy the cable car as already said, also tivoli world & selwo marina, although if the children are used to Florida, tivoli world & selwo marina, maybe a bit tame, but they are enjoyable in their own right & are in close vicinity to each other.
If you want an enjoyable night out,you could get the local bus to torremolinos & go to guapatinis bar,it is a family friendly drag show & is a really enjoyable night.the tickets are 15 euros, but the shows do sell out,so better to book online, they ask for 5 euros to book & then you pay 10 euros on the night.look it up on trip advisor,we had a great night.
The children may also like the chamber of secrets show,it’s a magic show, which again you can look up on trip advisor & jump on the local bus & it’s also on the bus route,so not hard to find.
We love that coastline
