Some homeowners use their garage as a games room, some don't - they can get hot as they will not usually have aircon (this would contravene the regulations regarding habitable space). If it's important to you, suggest you check with the owner.

Many resort communities have a clubhouse for guests - for example, at Windsor Hills they have a games room with pool tables, table tennis, table football & arcade games, a family cinema and a fitness room in the clubhouse.

Using garages as games rooms makes them stink and hot as hell - not recommended.

Why would they stink?

I have had my garage door insulated so the heat from the sun shining on the door does not turn it in to a hot room there is also a large fan to keep the room cool.

We would be very interested to know how you came to this conclusion?

The only thing that can make a garage smell is if the bins are kept in their, we have a bin store "outside" so for the avoidance of doubt our games room most definitely does NOT "stink"

Steady on guys, from my experience with Florida villas the build up of heat and lack of circulation leads to the garage really humming. I'm not talking about bins being in there but just a heat & smell that makes it unbearable to stay in there for too long.

Some of you may have done things to alleviate these problems but I'm just speaking from personal experience.

I'm off to cancel the holiday if that's the case. I am so phobic of snakes!

Ignore the snake jibes. Most of them are under 12ft long anyways. Besides, the bears and gators often disturb them and they move on

Can't say I've ever experienced a hot or smelly games room, so not at all sure on what that is based on.
