Can BA link two bookings?

I’m trying to persuade my parents to come with us on our next trip. We’re flying with BA and get free seat booking because we have an infant. Does anyone know if we can link both bookings so that we’d be checking in together and all get free seat selection?

Also, any recommendations for TAs to try for packages inc flights?

Thanks

They should be able to check in with you, but I don't think you can link the bookings after the fact ...

You can't. We booked last year and my parents booked after us and we trying linking but BA said we couldn't do it. If you have chosen your seats the only thing they can do is either pay to sit beside you or at online checkin you can see if you can move them near you. We didn't pay for any seats and were able to move them to the next row going out but coming back we were at the front and they were at the back.

Actually, you can link bookings on BA, but there is zero point in doing it unless at least one person travelling has Gold status or higher in the BA Exec Club.

Those holding such status can get the bookings linked (known as “To Complete Party” in BA) and enjoy free seat selection for the combined party. This benefit is not available to anyone else, and even for those entitled, it’s a manual process that might take a couple of days to get the seats confirmed.

I think my mum is just blue now since she retired. Would that work for us traveling with an infant though since we get free seat selection?
I’m not fussed if it would take a few days. We’re in front row bulkhead seats for the bassinet so there’s no chance of them being seated anywhere near us without either paying or being linked to us.

I’m afraid not. It only works for seating if somebody has Gold status and links another booking to theirs. BA does not grant seating privileges via linked bookings to anyone below Gold status.

This is accurate with regard to being able to preselect seats based on status, assuming that all passengers are travelling in the same cabin. However, to add further to this, my understanding is that BA will attach a note to the PNR to link the bookings for any passenger. This shows they are travelling together and can be useful in the event of an issue which may require a flight change. This way then know who isctravrlling together. Whether this works in practice is open to debate.

Yes, we linked my Mum to our booking this way. They said it would identify us as one travelling party, but that was it. She still had her own booking ref, check in & had to pay for seat selection (we travelled with an infant too & she paid to sit beside us).
