USCARHire - Enhanced Roadside Assistance
Just paid our balance on rental for May today - USCrahire - Thrifty 15 seat van for 16 days.
I found the advice given on the email confirming payment very good- especially about upselling on arrival. I have never taken Enhanced Roadside assistance before and USCarhire advise taking out theirs - so I had a look and quote and it seems very good. Just wonders if any have taken this out and had to use it.

I have never taken this coverage but I would if I was unable to change a wheel myself.
I have always recommended this product from this company if anybody asks. The reason being that a few years ago a very well respected Car Forum Dibber also recommended it. If it's good enough for him it's good enough for me.

We can change a tyre, I am guessing even on 15 seat van if needed. But it's $2.5 per day. Drop in ocean compared to other costs.

I sometimes take this ERA - when I remember. Mainly for the loss of the key. Used to be you always got two keys on a ring. We split the ring and two people had a key. Not with only one key being provided, and the huge cost of replacement, do generally plan to take it - but sometimes forget.
It is a small amount in the cost of a Florida holiday for peace of mind. |

I normally take this product and always from US Car Hire even if I have rented elsewhere. I know the price adds up on our longer stays but it gives me peace of mind, especially around a key being lost and personally I would never change a tyre on the freeway or some of the busier roads such as the US27.

We always take it from US CAR HIRE as I can't change a tyre myself. I did have a puncture last Sept and they guy came in about 20 mins ...sorted the tyre. Money well spent.

9 Florida holidays and 3 USA road trips, had 1 slow puncture in 2018 on US East Coast. Took it to a small rental office and they did not have a car in class to exchange. Had to go to tire repair shop. Took about 3 hours to get back on road.
1 West Coast road trip had to exchange 2 cars, faulty 12v socket so no charger for sat nav, and service light came on. Wil buy the roadside assistance for this trip. The van hire has reduced from £1560 to £915 anyway. In the rare times I hire car in uk, I buy excess insurance. Thanks for all the replies.
