With the news tonight, does anyone have any thoughts about what might happen with these Royal Caribbean cruises? I know they haven't released the capacity they plan to sail at but i'm sure it will be more than 1000.

I wondered this. My best friend won one of the places for herself and family and there’s 3 of them - given that the NHS competition was for 999 BLC holders, that’s probably over 2000 actual guests, spread over 2 cruise dates which were still for sale to the general public, my guess is they’ve booked more than 1000 on each cruise - so where does that leave them

That was exactly my thoughts. I have no idea how they are going to solve this but I hope they release their plans as soon as they are able (I know this has probably left Royal Caribbean in a tricky place). We just got our cases out this weekend thinking we might finally get to ‘go’ somewhere!

I’ve only just come across this thread. I won a 999 place. The cruise will go ahead. They would have taken into account the cap on 1000 pax

Congrats!

They can't have many paying customers onboard the 2 dates that were available then! Or they had a lot of winners not take up their prize, which would be a shame. I know you could apply for either double occupancy or a family cabin for 4 when you entered, even at double occupancy that's both your cruises filled with the maximum number of passengers.

Sorry to hear that Sophie.

As my post a couple up says, the maths just didn't work out, as they could have filled the firsts 2 cruises with just blue light card winners (and in fact have too many passengers if people got a 4 cabin with kids and not just 2 people), and they've also been selling them to paying passengers.

I really hope they don't just move all the blue light card winners, that would be extremely unfair.

We didn’t win it via blue light (despite having a blue light card) - I’d be interested to know if the winners got the same options as the people who paid. I would hope they would.

Can I be nosey and ask what they offered you? You don't need to go into details, just wondered if they're being desperate and letting you move for no extra cost for example.

MSC are not, it's basically refund or rebook but at the current price. I think I've just seen that P&O are offering 125% future cruise credit.
