We flew with Delta in July. Lots of people brought suitcases on as hand luggage. Some looked quite big.

Especially on domestic flights the official carry on size seems to be ignored big time.
Personally I would stick to the limit of 22" x 14" x 9". |

Awww bless you I know it seems strange but you will be the norm taking on a small carry on case and a hand bag and yes it's within the guidelines no worries at all!
We flew with delta a few weeks ago and I took a small roll along case (within stipulated dimensions) plus a big hand bag. Kids and hubby all had rucksacks too. When we fly home we'll be stuffing the carry on case full to the brim (18 kgs I think) with extra clothes bought here etc no point me paying for an extra bag in the hold and more often that not at the gate they offer to check roll alongs in for free to ease the boarding process and free up space in the overhead bins... more so homebound but still unnecessary we always find room easily for our carry on case in the overhead bins. I promise you have nothing to worry about with your conservative measures compared to american's who fly with the kitchen sink in their carry ons! |
