London Eye
Can anyone advise how long the queue is likely to be to get on the London eye on a Saturday morning?

It depends on when you get there. You have to queue to get the tickets then queue to ride. I would give your self a an hour or so. You can pre-book which takes things down a little, but if it is busy you will have Florida like queues. If you get there for the ticket offic opening you might be too bad. Just think WDW and queue. We are British it is what we do best.

Hi everyone - just stumbled on this thread and could do with some help!
Im coming down to London (from Edinburgh) on 30th April for 2 nights with my DD who will be 15 when we are there - it's her birthday pressie - we've got tickets to go see Wicked and my plan was to use some of my Tesco deals tokens for a hotel but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen! My friend told me about skyscanner.net for cheap(ish) flights down but anyone got any recommendations for somewhere to stay (cheaply!) - I wanted to stay near where Wicked is (Victoria Station) as it's easy to get to from the airport and also means we don't need to do the tube after the show at night as done that before and don't like it! Any help you can give guys? Thanks muchly Mandy xx |

Try one of the value hotel websites (Ibis etc). Enjoy Wicked.

I think this is a good suggestion since there are some (slightly unsavoury) cheaper hotels in and around Victoria. At least with a chain you have some idea of what to expect.

Hmm - thanks for the advice on the hotels - Im having no luck at all!
I can get the Victoria Inn on Belgrave Road for £128 B&B (total for the 2 nights) but any of the chains are looking for that per night! and I can't get any other "more popular" hotels to come close. Im not really fussed about the number of stars as we're not gonna be in the room much so just close to Wicked and clean and safe really. Tried Travel Lodge, Westmister link above, Ibis, Holiday Inn Express, Novotel, Premier Travel Inn - any others I should look at as I don't know what's in the area! Ta Mand xx |

Hi Mandy
My colleagues and I are flying down from Aberdeen on the 30th for three nights. We are off to see Mama Mia. We also went last year at the same time and got a fantstic deal through Hilton hotels. I am sure it was advertised on the 1st or 2nd January. I had an email through MSE. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will hopefully have the same deal this year.

Victoria is not the best place to find hotels.
Here is a link to Comfort Inn Victoria. Hope that helps.

Thanks Lynn - what's MSE?
Had a look at Comfort Inn Peter but they want £244 which is way too much - if Victoria isn't the OK then where's then next closest (don't really want to use the tube after the show as don't like the tube at night but a short taxi ride would be OK (just dont want to end up spending £30 on a taxi!)
