Thanks folks, some stunning staircases there. I love the glass and will definitely go for that for the ballustrade. I wish we had one side open as these are so nice in comparison to our enclosed one.

We’ve currently got wallpaper but will just paint once the skimming has been done.

Still undecided about the light tunnel - suspect it will be expensive .

Love the glass. Good choice looks so different to the norm.

Love this thread. We want to decorate our hallway & landing & stairs at some point, love the glass on the stairs. I’d just worry about all the fingerprints & cleaning with my kids!

So, not really much progress other than the skimmer is booked and joiner is booked. We need to strip the paper this weekend.

We are replacing the balustrade at the top with glass for a more modern look and I’m still debating paint colours. All pine will be painted white (or replaced).

Any views on colours for walls and carpet? Grey is still my no 1 choice but I’m worried it’ll look too cold with it being two solid walls...

I've got silver grey carpet, white walls and white spindles (it's a new build so haven't decorated yet), it doesnt look cold, it looks fresh and light. No idea how to post a photo to show it though!

Liking these pictures. We want to change the bannister on the switchback stairs we will have but think the cost will be too much so probably paint instead. Our current stairs are like this, but with light beige carpet, like you I fancy grey carpet, sure it won't be much different
