Moan away Sandra I feel the same. DD’s 23rd is on the 13th Dec and I need to sort something for that, I’ve just this week started a new job and expected to sort the Christmas party for that, tons of pressies to buy, Christmas to organise at home. Yet I’m sat looking at holidays for Feb on the BA site Im just not interested, but I need to shift this. My only contribution is I’ve booked an Ocado slot for Christmas dinner food, lol.

We love xmas but it’s very understated here. Unless daughter and grandson are coming over we will have our own “ special “ lunch and then we have spanish friends down for all the traditional Xmas dinner trimming

Already bought grandson a bike, that’s at his house in U.K. that’s it.

Between Xmas and birthdays I also have 20+ to buy and I just find it overwhelming. I’ve tried various things to make it easier but it’s always a last minute panic.

We disappear every year for Christmas, normally I've bought all the Grandkids bikes, but they don't need new ones this year, and now they're all into computers phones tablets etc, I'm leaving money for their parents to choose what to get them, passing the buck maybe, but I'd rather they got something they really want and need.

I have struggled to get excited for Christmas for the last couple of years. I think it's because the kids are 23 and 21 and to me it just feels commercialised. We always have my parents here for Xmas day and I am grateful that we have a lovely day together but it all just feels like a big build up for the sake of it. I am hoping that if we are ever blessed with grandchildren, that the excitement will come back.

There’s 28 but some is just a token gift like wine and biscuits and beers for my nephews and £10 each in a card, I’ve told my kids £200 limit this year because we are saving for Toronto for ds wedding. Dh takes me shopping, paints any rooms that need a freshen up, sorts out alcohol and helps buying his parents presents and maybe something techie for the kids. He leaves everything else to me, kind soul!

This will be my first Christmas and new year off from work since I was 15, I’m going to be 49 at xmas.
I was a shop manager and now I have a field role and stop the Friday before xmas and go back the Monday after new year.
I really haven’t thought much about it yet, I think I’m really enjoying not being immersed in it at work. I actually think I’m going to find it difficult to get into the spirit but I imagine it might come quite late.
One think I am really looking forward to though is my brother and his family being home until the 23rd. We are going to have a Christmas dinner as a family for the first time ever maybe. There will be 3 little ones as well which will be amazing. Doesn’t matter it’s a couple of day’s early.

I don’t have too many presents to buy but still find the gift buying part of Christmas very stressful. I just don’t know what to get anybody. I would never take part in the Dibb Secret Santa - that is way too much extra pressure lol.

Always did shop early as at one time we had four family birthdays in Christmas and New Year time. The shops are so busy I prefer to get it done before the rush
