Recommended Villa Resorts

Hi, Can anyone recommend Villa resorts to look at which are not too far away from Disney and Universal please? Thanks!

For Disney you can't beat the area around Emerald Island/Oak Island/Indian Creek etc.

The area around Universal is not zoned for short term rentals so you are unlikely to find any villas close by. Please be wary of Airbnb offers as they are, I think, not legal in Orlando as when we were there last October there was an article on TV about them to that effect.

We have stayed at Emerald Island twice. Close to shops and restaurants and 10/15 minutes to Disney depending on traffic. We are trying Championsgate next month for a change.

Sunset Lakes was brilliant for us, just over 10 minutes to the Disney parks, 20 to SeaWorld and 25 to Universal.

The Retreat at Champions Gate is superb.

We stayed at Storey Lake this year, it was OK and closer to Disney, but not as nice as The Retreat.

Loved our stay at Sunset Lakes last year, beautiful area and our villa was 1st class.

Just returned from staying in a Townhouse on Emerald Island. We stayed in the “Phase 2” development slightly away from the main area but the location was fantastic. As you turn into Emerald Island off of Funie Steed Road you turn immediately left. You then have 2 security gates to go through to get to your home and it is a lovely peaceful environment. This area also has its own unmanned swimming pool and jacuzzi (smaller than the one up by the main reception) which is a maximum of 2-3 minutes walk from any of the homes. One thing you may come across though is the abundance of little green frogs and geckos in and around your Townhouse as there is a lake on the southern edge of the development meaning you may have to keep doors and patio doors closed. There is also a cluster of identical Townhouses up by the reception. The Homes themselves are deceptively spacious with either 3 or 4 bedrooms and all the kitchen equipment you would need included. Would definitely consider renting a Townhouse here again in the future.
