Everybody in Wales is stunned and saddened by this sad loss and I am sure that other people outside of Wales ie.Shan Given etc. are feeling the grief too.

So sorry for his wife and kids and sorry that he felt it was his only option. I really cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to be in such a dark place. RIP Gary.

I just wanted to share a bit of advice I was given after I had been at that dark place, I think about this statement often when I get low and it gives me strength, so I thought it was fitting to post it here in the hope that it nay give others reading this the strength it's given me. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I think of this often and it gives me strength to believe that the darkness will get brighter. Namaste x

Gary Speed was one of my heros as a Leeds United fan. He was everything that some of us on the Terraces, at the time, wanted to be. Good player, good looks, modest and "one of us". I remember he used to play and sing the songs the fans were singing sometimes and no matter which club he played for he gave it his all.

I've been struggling with this all weekend, have shed tears and wondered why (just like a lot of people who knew him better than I did).

For the cost of one weeks wages of a premier league player, the FA or PFA could employ an "anonymous" psychologist to conduct 1-1s with players and managers and break the "male need to show strength" culture in football, so players, whether depressed, gamblers, addicts, whatever, get help sooner rather than when its too late. The culture of football doesn't support "weakness" and thats a problem.

My thoughts are with his wife and children, such a another sad loss.

People have alsorts of emotions and thoughts running through there mind at a time like this and some would say "selfish" among other things, from experience i am sure his wife has thought it too, but as said no one will ever know how he was feeling and what was going through his mind only "him" and as quoted to me this happens "In a moment of insantity"

May they be left alone to greive in peace..
