Mobile Hand baggage - What do you put in your bag?

So today... At work a customer brought a massive bag to use as hand baggage on her next trip. I asked her what she was going to put in it. Just wondered what what you guys put in your hand baggage? Me so nosey 😂

Depends whether I'm checking a bag or not. Assuming I am, the only things that go in my hand baggage are a small packing cube with change of clothes, my passport and usual handbag things - wallet, phone, headphones, etc. Oh, and a tiny toiletries case with flight essentials like lip balm and deodorant.

With so many airlines charging for checked baggage though, a lot of people are now travelling carry on only. I often do this but mainly because I don't take a lot of stuff, so don't see the point of checking a bag through even if it's free.

Depends on where I'm going. Last year going to Florida not much, just documents, anti bac wipes, hand gel, phone, sweets, kindle, basic stuff. This year going to Tenerife and hand luggage will contain everything for 2 weeks. Not sure how my daughter willl manage, the rest of us will be fine. I refuse to pay the same to transport my case as I am paying for my fare. Will buy toiletries when we get there.

myself and the children only use hand luggage so have a cabin bag to go under the seat in front and 19" suitcase which holds the majority of our clothes (with a few items in hubbys hold case). The cabin bags hold mainly items that may be needed during the flight such as medication, snacks and travel documents but as we are normally sat together (unsure on next flight as not paying to reserve seats - eek) there may be one or two with additional day to day stuff such as toiletries, electronics.

On way out - swimwear, and change of clothes in case cases get lost! Lol! Has happened before! And on way home - some of our new and the more expensive purchases just in case the cases get lost! You can tell I’m a pessimist!
