It appears to be a minor crushing incident but it is a major incident because of how many people were stuck for a couple of hours.

Those people who have a fear of heights or similar are probably unlikely to ride it in the first place but yes anyone could react unexpectedly. However lots of people get stuck on rides but do we see or hear the same reactions.

The extreme was the smiler ride at Alton towers.

Take the new ride at universal, plagued with tech issues since June but people still want to ride it. Now they have a bees nest to contend with!

Sometimes you cant know how it will work once it is used by guests, perhaps that is why it opened when it did.

From the wonderful world of the internet:

Anyway, let’s hope Disney sort out the issue soon and do what they can to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

More than a couple of hours. Some were stuck on it for 4 hours.

Orange County Fire Rescue officials told News 6 Sunday, "We did respond to their request for mutual aid and were in position last night to assist when the Skyliner went back up and running. We did not transport or evacuate anyone."

Reedy Creek Fire Dept (onsite at Disney) responded. Orange County Fire Rescue was in position to assist which is what your statement actually says.

There are plenty of photos showing them with cherry pickers evacuating people.

Thanks for that. I've seen videos of cherry pickers but no one actually ever gets out. Saw one of the stretcher but that was near the loading platform.

Not great at all for anyone who got caught up in this incident... I know I'd be upset if I was stuck in a cable car for a couple of hours!

But this isn't going to put me off getting on a cable car, if they're up and running during my visit later this month...

Are you staying onsite and where did you get this message from? Because we have heard absolutely nothing and think it’s quite awful of Disney not to keep people informed! It’s not running today!
