You’ll need to go through your insurer, assuming they cover travel blocked by FCO advice you should be able to get there, they’ll probably require proof airline refused to cancel.

Some flights won't be cancelled as they will be carrying Americans who are going home, or Canadians with a change in the USA. You have to remember that the ban is for residents of Europe and the UK to enter the USA, not a ban on all travel.

We rebooked for exactly a years time same holiday etc. Only 130 extra with no fees. Cant sing virgins praises high enough for their effort to please. I think those hanging on to autumn are still going to be disappointed. I hope not but I feel they may be.

Some companies are waiving change fees and some are also waiving the difference in price AND the change fees dependant upon the date of travel.

Hello,

Quick question, did you book your original trip as part of a package with Virgin or were your tickets separate?

I tried to contact TUI yesterday and they would not honour the original free dining package on our booking and wanted to cancel the original tickets and re-book new tickets without the plan. Obviously I told them where to go!

Does your insurance still cover you if you move your holiday date and it gets cancelled again?
Just wondering because you are re-booking for a date already knowing there is potentially an issue.

Exactly. If you reschedule your holiday your travel insurance will no longer cover you for anything CV related as you switched in full knowledge of the risks as CV is now a known event.

The us is somewhere you do not want to get ill with no travel insurance.

If you rearrange a virgin flight please pay with your credit card as they will be your only hope at getting some money back if virgin go under.

It’s not worth rearranging anything just now, get a refund and sit tight.

I've just double checked with my sons insurance - if holiday date is changed to later in the year insurance will not cover anything CV related

When you go away, buy a holiday health insurance that does cover a coronavirus. You’ll still be covered by ATOL if the package gets cancelled also.
