Help with dress repair?
Hi all, I know this is the place to ask anything……so my DD bought her bridesmaid dresses from China (too late for me to advise against it) and one of the flower girls dresses has a small tear in the net and it’s only 7 weeks to the big day….
Can it be fixed and how? I don’t have the dress it’s with the in-laws in wales!

I’m not sure it’s a possibility to repair net without it being seen. A good seamstress would be able to tell you though. If not, I see there are pearls on the bodice, could additional pearls be scattered over the layer as this would hide any mend?
It’s a gorgeous colour! |

Either remove that layer of net and replace or easier buy a star or an apligue patch and stitch over, make it part of the outfit.

Sequins over the tear you might have to add a few to the other dresses to make it seem like they are supposed to be there. I bought a tiny veil in the sale when I got married nearly 30 years ago. It had a few holes and put sequins on to cover them. Xx

Yes, sew something over it, and match with any other flower girl dresses.

Brilliant, Thankyou have suggested a small butterfly which is in keeping with a bit of a theme…….(DD is TG and butterflies seemed appropriate so there’s little butterflies in with the flowers and table decorations, her class coloured loads for her and they’ve been cut out and laminated)……

Diane, these are gorgeous and so delicate they won’t weigh down the netting.

Flatten out the rip/bring edges together & spray with hairspray, that will keep the rip in place. Dance mum tip.
