That's really shocking considering the prices and the Disney brand. It usually sells itself on it's customer service history.

Has there ever been any explanation for the change in Housekeeping? Surely if Rosen etc can provide this service, while charging a fraction of the cost of a night onsite, Disney should be?

Just stayed 14 nights at Orange Lake Country Club. Our housekeeping consisted of a bag of towels and a bag of bedding dumped on the front doorstep around 9 days in!

I get that we’re in a moderate but it’s not really good enough when you pay so much to stay on site!
Not good enough. Are you moving to your DVC accommodation soon?

Yes, we move to SSR tomorrow. How have things been there?

Absolutely fine. But there again contractually it has to be for DVC rooms as we pay for it via our dues.

We just did two weeks at POR. Our beds were changed once and only made when they were changed. Towels replaced every other day and bins emptied and coffee replenished was hit or miss but we went to reception to ask for more and they delivered a huge bag of stuff. The worst part was she either pinched or threw away a bag of Gideon’s cookies which I’m never going to get over haha. I remember when they used to make towel animals and rearrange toys in the window. I get they’re severely understaffed with housekeeping but you do expect at least the bare minimum with what you pay and if they end up charging for it, it’s really disgusting because you already pay so much and you get housekeeping at pretty much every hotel. I think we’ll be eyeballing the universal hotels next time because they always come out cheaper.

They’re really struggling to hire housekeepers. They’re currently offering a $1000 sign on bonus for any new housekeepers because they can’t hire enough of them. They could maybe try paying them more but that would be too easy I suppose.

IMO right now the US is still dealing with covid despite what the crazy governor thinks! Yes mousekeeping was good at it's best but would you want to go into peoples rooms day in and day out without knowing they aren't covid carriers and get infected?

I'm going in December and i'll be more than happy with a bag of towels and bedding chucked at me or my bed changed once in the fortnight - it's a non issue really, I don't mind calling for more coffee or leaving a bin bag outside my room on a morning for collection.
