Typhoon lagoon warning
Just for anyone who is visiting like us for the first time be careful in the wave pool my dd 11 was enjoying the waves in the deeper water no problem as she is a good swimmer. But was knocked off her feet when the water was to her knee by the force and has now got a massive burn/ graze from the rough floor down her leg and on her foot. 😢

Sadly she's not the first and won't be the last, it's always been like that.
I hope she's ok and better soon, also hope it doesn't spoil your hols. |

It happened to me too in 2018. I hope your daughter heals quickly and it doesn’t spoil her fun.
Thanks to Covid and two years of working from home aka the fridge/cake cupboard the wave pool will have a job trying to sweep me off my feet next time. |

I've always found the more shallow the water the stronger the wave is and whilst appreciate that some people can't go deeper if you're at 5 ft depth plus it's fine

There is also a surprisingly strong current that pulls you into deeper water. We also had an incident when a mountain of a guy was body surfing the wave and crashed into my gf knocking her out I had to drag her back to the surface and hold her up while she got her senses back. That could have ended worse if I had been facing another direction

Years ago Ds was on a ring in the wave pool at blizzard beach and a wave knocked him off in the shallow bit and dragged him in and out for a while so his stomach was all scratched up.
Wasn’t pleasant but we definitely learnt from it! |

Yep, my daughter was 10 on our first visit and same thing happened to her, massive cuts to her elbows, and a trip to first aid after. She has refused to go again and she's 17 nearly lol. We've never been back! Why is it so rough? All the other water parks in the world that i've been to have smooth surfaces!
