|
If you do block off a traditional fireplace, dont forget to leave a brick size hole. This will help with damp problems you could get in the chimney breast. You can cover the hole with a vent.

I'm now doing the opposite and having a log burner put in on a flat wall as I've missed having a focal point 🤣 The wall where its going has a gas tap just above the skirting board thats being removed for just under £100.

That's a reasonable price to cap off, seal and test. Plus then issue a Gas Safe certificate for the work done.
Thankfully I have Mates who sort my issues out! Nothing like a freebie.
