SUV rentals, suggestions and advice pls

Hi all,

We are a group of 14 travelling to Orlando for 2 weeks in August. This is a 3 times delayed trip originally booked for August 2020, when we had a VH group booking including car hire for 2 x 8 seaters at a fantastic price.

We rebooked DIY as the flights were cheaper this time round with BA to Tampa, but the dreaded car hire is just horrendous.

We ideally require 2 x 7 seaters at least. We have exhausted the Internet searches for the past few weeks and don't see any good deals at all. We understand off airport collections are cheaper and have seen these, but our flight lands late in the afternoon and the off airport offices will be closed by the time we get through.

Do we just wait it out a bit longer? I wondered if we should Uber us all from Tampa airport to our villa and then collect the cars locally near the villa maybe the next morning?

Thoughts welcome please 🙏

Try a quote from Skippy Transportation for a transfer from Tampa to Orlando they can do 14 I think and they get really good reviews. It also saves you from driving after the flight.

There was a recent thread suggesting contacting Andy at Discount Florida car hire.

We did this yesterday and he got us a deal almost 50% cheaper than what I’d been able to find myself.

I’d check out that thread and drop him an email.

Good luck!

I recently booked a 7 seater minivan with Andy for £1250. 17/8-3/9 (17 days). I’m hoping to get this down a bit over the next few months. I’ve had the same in November and March and they were £800/£900. Just keep looking.
