Johns Pass - Have you been recently?
Hey Dibbers...
We are heading off to the Gulf Coast for a day at the beach and hoped you could offer some help? Mrs McFluff enjoyed visiting St Johns Pass and Madeira Beach as a child so we thought we'd take a trip down memory lane? It looks like a simple drive from OKW has anyone done the trip recently? Where to eat? It looks like there are loads of places in Johns Pass but which is best for a family meal, view, staff, happy hour etc? Is parking for the beach easy? Can you hire loungers etc? Thanks |

There is a multi storey parking area there now so go there as the car will stay cool. Parking in the car park or in a few street spots with meters (that swallow up quarters! ) is expensive though. You can pay cash on leaving the car park to the garage attendant. There’s Bubba Gumps but we like the Hut, down below Sculleys and you can sit outside or in. There’s quite a few nice shops etc. beach wise, head over the bridge to treasure island and enjoy the beach there. I think there is a beach access car park (again take quarters!) by IHOP. Johns pass is on the Madeira Beach side but Treasure Island is quieter and has some nice places to eat as well. Caddy’s on the beach is nice for sunset drinks. A great area so enjoy your day. If on Facebook follow @johnspass and there’s lots of info and pictures there 👍🙂

We went back in 2016 and parked in the multi storey. Wasn't cheap to park from memory but it was a lovely memorable day. We went on a dolphin boat trip which was excellent value and amazing! The dolphins were swimming right at the side of the boat. It also included some commentary of the famous peoples mansions you could see - Al Capone etc. We didn't have a meal there but bought some lovely ice-cream and snacks from the boardwalk. We had a paddle in the gulf, beach was lovely and we wished we could have stayed longer
