Some premium seats aren't worth it, even free. So do I get to choose the airlines (and seat type, for those with multiple cabin versions) MH?

Thinking out loud... You'd have to have minimum of two airlines to do that routing, no single airline has rights to fly that. Qantas would be closest as you could do LHR>SIN>SYD/BNE>LAX/SFO, but would still need to cover the domestic US leg. Typically US domestic carriers don't have PE, so would that be bumped up to US first? I would rate most US domestic first products more in line with the better international PE products than a true business/first. But ticketing an indirect route in PE bumps you down to standard economy for domestic.

If I was allowed to stopover, I might consider it since I have a lot of relatives in Australia and the free flight to see them would be nice. I hate having to use my travel fund just to do that.

But since you said no stops, no way. That's over 40 hours flight time each way. Not worth it for Florida.

I don't think I'd do it and we do the Australia trip a lot (as we have residence there). The flight to Oz is long enough thanks. I've down the journey to Sydney for a two day visit once and that was brutal, so to do basically that trip just to get to MCO would be horrendous

4 hours is way too long a break between flights. My best was 40 minutes in KL, but no I don’t think so. I’ve done the Australia flights a lot (in economy) and I’m really not a fan of long haul

No.. I hate turbulence and the turbulence coming back from Australia always seems bad in comparison to other routes. We literally bounced all the way back from Brisbane to Dubai the last time I flew that route. Awful.

My cousins husband returned from Australia for a 48 hour trip when his father died, it's a killer. The journey is way too long without the returning to MCO bit.

I am keen to go back to Australia when Covid settles down but only in a comfy seat and with at least 6 weeks between the out bound and return.

The flight you suggest MH would probably kill me!

I would to California, but not Florida... it would want to stay for 3 weeks plus.
