As you’ve already booked I wouldn’t worry about it now.
We’ve flown into jfk a few times, we’ve always used the kiosks and been through immigration really quickly, our last time we had a 4 hour connection (didn’t want that long but it was all I could get) and had a good 3 hours to spare and that was changing terminal from 4 to 2. Be prepared that you may have to change terminal as your internal flight could change, it’s easy enough on the terminal train. |

I would never book a JFK connection with under 3hrs
but, since you've booked already, it's not worth stressing over it first of all, check with your airline if you can subscribe to text messages or emails regarding any change to your flights you're over 8 months out, so your flight WILL change schedules, be it by a few minutes, or by a longer delay if the connection shortens, call your TA and stand your ground, try to be rebooked on a later JFK-MCO flight most will do that for free if you insist long enough and don't give in when they quote you ridiculous amendment fees just make a note of the JFK-MCO flights that leave after the one you're booked on, it will allow you to better negociate any change, and you'll be the one offering the solution, as the agent on the phone just may not want to bother ... now, your connection is doable, if everything goes according to plans, and that's the reason why they say they wouldn't sell it if it wasn't think of this as a lottery ticket seller who would go by "sure, winning the grand prize is possible, we wouldn't be selling tickets if it was not" ... and they would be absolutely right now you have more chances to make your connection than winning the grand prize, lol know your options, keep checking for schedule changes, and react anytime something changes on your schedule if you can get your flight changed to a longer layover, then good for you. If you can't, then try at least to sit at the front of the plane, do not waste time through immigration, pack in a sensible manner so you don't spend too much time at control checkpoints |
