Lyft vs Uber

Hello

I'm an uber user in general and have never used lyft - are they drastically different or just much the same thing and which would be your preference in Orlando?

Just wondering if I should get the lyft app as well for our trip in Sept - havent had any issues using uber in the past tho

I use Lyft because the discounts are better than Uber. Rough estimate I’d say 70% of the drivers we had drive for both companies.

We’ve used both during our time over here so far and on all journeys the drivers have said that they drive for both. The last Lyft driver said that Lyft is preferred by the locals as all the ‘tourists’ use Uber which means demand is usually higher for there (so longer wait times).

No issues with either service so far

Lyft do better discounts in April we had 10% off , the day we arrived on a Monday it increased to 25% off the next ten rides.
I've used both but overall prefer Lyft.

Do you just download the app once you arrive in order to activate discounts?

We use both. If you can get the discounts makes it even better.

how do you get the discount? Is it just download and its there and can you pay with paypal on lyft like uber?

Use either as most of the drivers drive for both UBER and LYFT anyway.

We tend to stick with just UBER.

I have downloaded Lyft from the play store(android) over here, you assign a email address and all the discounts come through on that. I use Uber over here but will be using what ever has a shorter wait time over in Orlando
