Monterey Bay Whale Watching
I'm gutted!
I booked the Princess Whale Watching at Monterey Bay for the 22nd August months ago and I've just had an email to say due to scheduling they've cancelled the 10am cruise that we've booked They've offered us a 9am, but we are coming from Sanfranciso and they want us there 45 mins early, so it makes it such an early start And I don't want the 12.30 that they've offered as we are doing our highway 1 roadtrip down to our over night stop in Cambria and it makes it so late for us. Which other whale watching trips do you recommend please? I need one for around the 10am time though. Typical, we leave in a few days and I have everything planned so nicely Thanks xx Edited at 06:02 AM. |

Try Monterey Bay Whale Watch, they go from the same place as Princess.

I went with Sanctuary, they were excellent.

Sanctuary may be best bet for you as they are approx 30mins closer to San Fran than Monterey bay. They are also closer to where the majority of the activity is which is approx 30 mins from Monterey which means slightly longer time amongst the whales.
We used Monterey bay whale watch from the wharf and could not fault them we had a fantastic trip, but as I said Sanctuary may be a better option for you coming down from San Fran. |

Another shout for sanctuary cruises. If you have watched the news lately and saw the photo of a humpback whale with a sea lion in its jaws this was taken by chas who is a marine biologist and cameraman with sanctuary cruises. ( it let the sea lion go as they can't eat large prey animals)

Sea Goddess out of Moss Landing could be an option for you and they often have Groupons available. We used the 2 hour cruise with them 3 years ago and will go out again at 9.30 today 😀
2 hours was enough for us to see a huge number of humpbacks and included free coffee and donuts on the 9.30 cruise. |
