Mobile Anyone looked into Play the Icelandic airline ?

They are flying from Stansted to Baltimore or Boston via Reykjavik. Flight times not too bad.

The price for my dates seemed to be £389 but it wants you to create an account before it lets you see the final amount.

Obviously there would be additional costs for luggage etc and I wondered if anybody knows what they are ?

Plus also costs for getting to Florida and back. If it all added up to less than £650 per person it might be a possibility ?

What would put me off them is the fleet size. Currently only 4 planes, with 5 more on order for delivery over the next few years. With a fairly long list of destinations for a fleet of that size, that gives them absolutely no wiggle room if a plane goes tech, is seriously delayed, etc.

Going by your countdown, I can see non-stop flights with VS LHR-MCO in late June for less than £650 and BA LGW-MCO is under £600. Both with baggage. So a two stop, multi-ticket flight for around the same price doesn't sound like a bargain at all.

ETA: I just created a fake account to test and a carry on bag is £37 and checked luggage is £56 per bag. Prices are per leg, so £186 in total if you wanted both for both flights. So you're already close to the BA price before you even add your Florida flights on.

It's for my neice and her husband. They fancied a few days in Reykjavik and DC on the way to Florida.

Seems like all the add ons will price them out of this one ...paying extra to take on hand luggage is taking things a bit far.
