We didn’t like PE because the arm rests can only be raised half way.

Over the years we have flown E, PE and also UC.
I am 5' 5", Hubby is 6' 2". These days we cannot justify the extra cost to fly PE and our UC days are definitely over! We now happily fly Economy Delight, we need nothing more and would prefer to spend any savings we make on the flights on other things... The only exception would be that sometimes the cost of PE is so close to ED that we would book PE, although it hasn't happened in a while! Ali x |

Answer to your first question , personally that is far too expensive to upgrade one way .
Also when going through immigration you may or he may get asked if you are travelling alone .. you can chose to say no or you could say yes which could then raise questions of why you went through separately. As most people travelling together would go through immigration together . |

We loved Virgin PE but to be honest not for that price.
We paid £300 to upgrade both ways the time we did it- and seat selection was free in PE not in Economy then so that was almost £100 each saved, meaning the cost of the upgrade was actually £200 for both ways. Thought that was fine especially as we took advantage of the extra luggage as it was our honeymoon. We did Virgin economy this year and still had a good flight! The main difference for us was immigration was so much quicker coming out of PE |

Could you all not upgrade to delight for that sort of price?

We fly home PE but it's no where near as good as Tui Premium. Especially if the person in front reclines.

Pay for an exit row seat, lots of room to stretch out. You could go behind with your children.

I was about to suggest the exit row - I think we paid about £60 per flight and you and your kids could sit behind. You could also look at delight which is extra legroom for all of you.
