Carmines just off time square is great - not too expensive, huge portions and a great atmosphere.

Lombardi’s for pizza is great. Also One of our favourites is Bourbon Street Bar & Grille just near Times Square.

Second the recommendation for Bourbon Street - it's nice to eat outside when not too busy. Takes Dine4less discounts too.

Juniors is good for breakfast, we went there as there was a massive queue for Ellens at 8am - get there early!

We loved grabbing lunch in Eataly which is right near the flat iron building- it’s a fab shop too with several small restaurants within.
Also a word on somewhere not to eat! The Natural history museum- expensive, busy and not nice at all!

We liked westway diner, really tasty, great menu and great servers and also patzeria family and friends, lovely little Italian and very reasonable, we did also make the mistake and visited Applebee’s and tgi Fridays, rubbish and overpriced

The likes of Applebees and TGI's are exactly those we are trying to avoid. Hate going to a tourist trap and getting stung for an overpriced, poor quality meal.

There's a super old diner down by Wall St called Pearl Diner, it opened in the 1960s and is one of the oldest still going! Doesn't look amazing from the outside but it was packed with workers and cops inside and the food was delicious...we really enjoyed it as it was proper old school, even had jars of pickles on the table with the ketchup.

My dad realised as soon as we walked inside that he'd visited in the 1970s when his ship docked, it was lovely to hear all about it.

Tick Tock was another good one!

I've just posted up my itinerary for when I got in 2 weeks time and there's a few food places in there. I can't not go to Olive garden and red lobster as I love them, but that's the only time I want to really be in Times Square

A few I've never been to before but have heard great things so excited to try: Big Dadyys, Clinton Street Baking Company and Bubbys for pancakes. For dinner I want to go to Bubba for pasta made in a wheel of cheese. Chelsea market is supposed to be full of lovely food places. I've been to Ellen's every trip and usually have my last breakfast there, and will do so again. The food actually isn't that bad, the milkshakes are nice and the portions are big. We all enjoyed it! the atmosphere and experience is great
