What worries me more than the multitude of different tests is, what happens if one of or all of our family tests positive on the pre-Departure test in the US? We're in a Disney DVC hotel so even if they have spare capacity, it’s going to be very expensive to stay there for another 10 (or 14?) nights. Plus, what if they don’t have capacity? How would we even get to another hotel when we have Covid? If it’s a cheaper hotel, they may not have room service, so how would we get food? Then, if say, one of us gets Covid then after a few days another one of us is quite likely to get it (being together in a hotel room) and then the 10 days (or however long) starts again, and so on.

What happened to Grant Schapps’ promise to be able to use NHS LFTs for the return and his other promise to bring prices right down🤔
As someone else highlighted , very convenient release on Saturday night, means will dominate Sunday politics programs and takes focus off x-mas party story !

I just feel slightly uneasy about paying £50-£60 on tests that we don't know if they need to be supervised or not. It'll be my luck that I'll buy them then an MP will come out tomorrow saying they need to be supervised.

Why can't they just bloody clarify it on the GOV website.

Just read on fb glasgow live it’s a four nation approach so exactly the same and clear as mud! We are in orlando just now I had purchased the 2 day lat flo from Randox didn’t bring it with me though as I intended to do it when I got back then it changed to pcr more cost ordered them to pick up on return , can’t return the lat flo as I opened them🤦🏻 Now we have to find somewhere here to get tested before we come back if this is the case it’s unreasonable to expect people to test in day two also it should be one or the other ! So bloody angry but said to hubby if we test positive I wonder what would happen we are with staysure and are covered for testing positive before return given all the stress I could cope with an extra two weeks in a villa and orders from instacart 😂 need to be careful what I wish for eh 😷😉💗

That could have happened even without this testing requirement though.

We tested to come home from Tenerife this summer, very straight forward process. I took nhs lft with us and tested before we did the actual tests to get our certificates. Just put my mind at ease.

These tests are a farce though as they’re not supervised so they’ve no idea if one person did all the tests or if you even bothered to stick the swab up your nose. Plenty of stories this summer of people cheating the test to make sure they got home. It’s all pointless really.

I agree.
I was reading on another page earlier about some who’s used the same codes for PLF 4 times, I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

The pre departure and day 2 tests are just “temporary” according to the Gov. Will be reviewed on 20th December.

Not worth worrying about yet if your holiday isn’t in the immediate future.
