I am expecting that too, that's why I'd rather ask on here. 😂

I now have an allergy to oats, started maybe 2015? Sickness and diarrhoea, and the most awful stomach cramps, feel pretty unwell for a good few days. Before we knew what it was had a trip to Disney and to be honest it was ruined as I felt so ill! Went to Dr and they gave me a diary and told me to avoid certain foods that I ate alot of, luckily oats was my first go to as I had porridge every morning! And I used to love black pudding and those rolls with the oats on top! Have to read the ingredients labels of everything now, as oat flour seems to have become very popular! I hope you get to the bottom of it soon, it can be very draining! Lloyds pharmacy used to do allergy testing, not sure if they still do?

Oddly I didn’t, but I was in a lucky position when mine happened, as I already had a GP appointment the following day for something else.

In February 2016 we had a Chinese takeaway, I had a Wandering Dragon, which contains prawns. Around 3 hours after we’d eaten I started with the reaction, after calling 111, I didn’t know what was happening, I ended up in an ambulance and taken to A&E. The consultant there was “it was the prawns” and eventually I was discharged about 4.30am.

When I went for my appointment at the GP the following afternoon, they already had my notes from A&E, and after a chat referred me straight away to the Allergy clinic at the other local hospital. I did also get my physio referral that I’d actually gone in for as well.

EDIT: 2 trips to the allergy clinic confirmed, it was the prawns!

I feel terrible after having MSG and also truffle oil which seems to be quite trendy right now.

I'd love to know the science behind these finger prick allergy tests

When I did the skin prick test the first time the doctor at the hospital admitted that the shrimp one wasn’t very good, but I did come up positive on the lobster. On my 2nd trip I had to take some prawns with me for the challenge, but before they did that they did the skin prick again but with the flesh of the prawn and I reacted straight away.

As Im getting older- now 51, I've noticed an increase in migraine headaches and food sensitivities- and they seem to go together... bananas, avocado, pineapple- not good for my stomach or head! And when the stomach is off, the migraines seem to follow. I've never used a test, but my doc said to start eliminating dairy, wheat and soy for 2 weeks, and then adding them back in one by one to see if any reaction... you could probably do the same with any foods... Good luck
