virgin air miles and companion seat
getting a little confused with the virgin airmails
I believe once you spend over £20,000 on the virgin Atlantic credit card it enables you to get a companion flight does this mean I would have to pay without using my points for a flight to get a companion seat for my wife also can they be used in any class on the virgin flights thanks |

It depends which FC status you have as there are different T & C's
FC Red Member A companion reward ticket in Economy. Spend your miles for a reward booking in Economy and take one companion with you in the same cabin for no additional miles. FC Silver member A companion reward ticket in Economy or Premium. Spend your miles for a reward booking in Economy or Premium, and take one companion with you in the same cabin for no additional miles. The thing to be aware of is you can only pick 1 of the 2 options (if Red) or 1 of the 3 options (if Silver) from what is offered. Thus if you are thinking of doing a Miles Econ to PE upgrade you don't get the companion flight as well. One or the other not both

Has anybody had any success / conclusion as to whether you can use the companion ticket for 2 people one way rather than return? (I’m red tier but would only be flying economy one way).

How do you get notified of companion ticket is earned?
I thought you could only use it if you paid cash for the first flight. We've almost got our miles for three return flights to Orlando in peak period so a companion flight would be good. |

With the old MBNA card you had to book a flexible cash ticket to use the companion voucher. No one used them for leisure travel as these tickets are normally 3-4 times the price of the tickets we all buy. They’re the ones businesses tend to buy.
With the new Virgin card you can use the companion voucher on reward flights but you are limited to which class based on your flying club status as per Tom’s post above. Edited at 09:32 PM. |

So much better on the App to see your earnings etc than the website.
