Using own camera underwater at Discovery Cove
We’re going to Discovery Cove and will also be doing the Sea Venture when we’re there.
I want to use my phone camera (in a waterproof casing) when we do this but wondered if we’d be allowed or not? Would we also be allowed to use it in any of the other ares as well?

Yes you can use it in the lazy river, and the large pool with the fish in.
Not sure about sea venture, but I don’t see why not. It’s not allowed on the dolphin swim though. |

Yes, but sea venture killed my underwater camera! Dunno if it was the depth?

Oh! That’s not good . Could be the depth. Might not take it with me then.
Any idea how much their photo costs are?

We used our own underwater camera including Sea Venture and they will even take photo's of you as well.
The only place you can't use a camera is in the dolphin pool |

I used my own underwear go pro type camera for sea venture, they had no problem at all with me doing so. The divers that are down there with you also took it off me at points to film me with the hermit crab/sea snail/shark area etc.

I have a Nikon and used this underwater at discovery cove, staff were fine, pics were amazing, wouldn't use my phone though even in a waterproof bag.

I used my own under water camera for SeaVenture and it was fine. I got some lovely photos. The divers were happy to take photos of me. I'll be doing the same again this year.

My son is going to the Great Barrier Reef next week and we’ve just got a small touchscreen action camera off amazon for £25 (actually cost £15 with a voucher they had on an offer) . It’s same as a go pro but has WiFi function so you can sit nearby and watch the footage on your phone if you aren’t actually doing it and takes a Micro SD to record it all anyway . It’s an excellent piece of kit for the money and loads of accessory’s including . Much better than our go pro. Waterproof to 98ft.

I have used my under water camera on seaventure, which worked perfectly. The divers are also happy to take photos of you with your own camera.
However I would not be comfortable using a waterproof phone case unless it is designed to deal with the pressure. I’d be too worried about the seals failing and water getting in |
