Renting points-do you need to book months in advance?

When reading trip reports I know people have rented DVC points to stay at hotels. I have all my fingers crossed that we might be lucky enough to find a last minute holiday for us in August. If I wanted to rent points for a 1/2 night wedding anniversary stay (9/10th Aug) would it be possible or am I too late? If I could what is the best way to book it? Sorry I know this is a lot of ‘if’ it happens questions but any advice would be really appreciated.

Odd nights often pop up so if you were fairly flexible on which resort you could get lucky, you can either rent direct from an owner with points to rent, or go through a broker. I've never used a broker so can't recommend but many recommend Dave's DVC rentals.

I don't know how the brokers work with late availability, best to chat to one direct.

If you have your heart set on a specific resort and wouldn't consider anywhere else, then your chances would be much lower.

Thanks for the reply. It’s good to know that odd nights do appear. I’m not after anywhere specific, my list of where I would love to stay in Disney has endless possibilities. Fingers crossed I get the opportunity to go at all this summer!

Daves will only let you do a 2 night stay . I’d like points for 1 night in Nov but can’t find anyone who is renting them at present and the availability , I find it’s pot luck if you want the 1 night .

Thanks for looking, I would love to stay at all of them. It’s good to know there is some availability at the minute. I hope I find my last minute trip soon!

Always better to have 2 nights in Disney if I can😊 I imagine Nov is really popular, I suppose anything after GE is open will be a good find now! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that you find something.

Thank you , We already have 5 at the yacht club .i would just like the poly as it might be mums last visit so it would be nice as she loves the resorts stays. It’s rammed though as you say .
HAve you a favourite , akl savannah is special , or bay lake theme park view looks nice .
