Having said that I've also clapped like a loon in the cinema... Only for Harry Potter though! I've also been in a cinema where the vast majority was chanting 'Go, go Gryffindor!' Ahh midnight screenings

I think all our plane clapped a few years ago on a flight into Manchester.
This was after a 24 hours delay. The flight was due to depart the evening of the liquid bomb incident so because pf all extra security issues we had such a long delay. I think everyone was just glad to be home safely Now people clapping after Soaring... well thats something I really cannot understand! |

I don't clap, but I do say thank you to all the cabin crew as I walk past them leaving the plane.

Most of our flights to Florida have ended with people clapping on landing. We usually go PE and have noticed that nobody in PE claps but you can hear the Economy passengers clapping. My theory is that they are glad to know the 9 hour flight is nearly over, whereas in PE you've got a bit more room so not so desperate to get off the plane. On the other hand they don't seem to do it on the return flight so maybe excitement has something to do with it too.
