How much to give for a wedding gift
So I am going solo to an old school friends wedding. I see her 3-4 times a year, we occasionally lie maybe once every couple of months chat on FB.
She's getting married next month and I'm going to the wedding - its actually going to be a petty small wedding and she invited me as I'm her oldest friend even though I dont feel we are that close. Anyways her and her gf already live together and have all the household stuff they need so have asked for money towards their honeymoon. I was thinking I would give them £30 in an envelope - is this an okay amount? I'm clueless I've never been to a wedding before as an adult without being with family and doing a joint gift.

We normally do £50 for friends and non close family, and £100 for close family. But at the end of the day, you give what you can afford, if your friend takes issue with this after the wedding then she's not that good a friend!

As a couple we would give £100 for a day invite and £50 for an evening invite. Give what you feel comfortable with.

We do £40-50 for a friend. If you don't want to give a cash amount you could get her a posh bottle of fizz

Are you going to the whole thing, day and evening?
I got married this year and we did have one couple who gave £25 between them for the day, and one £30, this went up to solo people giving us £150. We would have been chuffed to receive anything

We base it on what the meal out would be plus the cost of a token gift. Usually around the £100 mark based on a full day.

If you're comfortable giving £30 then go with your instinct and give that amount.
