School placing request appeal..

Hi folks.
We had a placing request refused for our 2 kids at a school our older kid attends. Letters came today. So we done one appeal letter for both, sent it of recorded delivery.
Does anyone have any experience of a placing request appeal, particularly in Glasgow, what is the process, what happens, how long is the process? Any other advice?

Not in Scotland but I appealed to get my youngest into the same school as his two siblings.

It was quite formal - you and a rep from the school (in my case the headmaster) both give your case to an independent panel. I was asked a lot of questions about why my son needed to attend THAT school. They had no interest in the sibling link at all. We failed to get him a place.

I found out that in our area appeals are rarely won apart from on medical grounds. My only advice is you have any specific reason you want that school then get lots of evidence to back your case. Ie if you or your child cannot get to another school because of a medical condition - come prepared with doctors letters. Good luck.
