Memphis
Just back today from a trip with some of my family me (49)
My mum (72) Son (21) brother (50) and his partner (40) We flew with us airways from london Gatwick -Charlottesville-Memphis What a long day. Booked with Virgin Holidays but flew with us airways stayed in the Holiday-inn Downtown Select hired car (Alamo). Object of holiday my mum wanted to see Gracelands where Elvis lived so we tagged along with her. Really enjoyed Gracelands so did my mum. We went on a showboat along the the Mississippi river tour guide very informative .But once you've done the main attraction's that's it we stayed in Memphis for 7 nights we wished we'd done 4 nights there and the rest somewhere else. But overall really good holiday.Roll on next year the big 50 wonder what my husband has in store for me hopefully a Disney cruise .

memphis has been my least favourite US city.we were scheduled to stay 4 nights, but only stayed 2,as it never grabbed our interest.our main reason for visiting was graceland,so once we had done that & a night out on beale st,we felt we could move on.

We also visited GraceLand around 8 years ago now and we really enjoyed ourselves there. MY dh's family lived in Memphis so that was the main purpose of our visit and we had a fab time. But as a normal holiday type place I agree a few days is plenty x x
