I really don’t see the issue. I might have read it wrong but it seems you are annoyed at not being given a gift? (Sorry if I have miss read).
Honestly I would rather be in the company of my sister than a gift, but it’s different for me as she lives in the US and I only get to see her once every 2 years. |

Ill be honest and say I don't get an adult being upset about Christmas presents. But then we don't tend to give presents to siblings anymore, focus on kids

Why don't you agree on a small donation from both of you, given as one donation to charity?
Then make a coffee date & enjoy that time together. We all stopped giving cards out at work, instead we all donated £5 (the rough cost of the boxes of cards) which mounts up and last year it was put towards a homeless charity. I'm worrying every year about presents. What to buy etc, and it does not help my own mental health anxieties either. Please give your sister some slack over this gift malarky. Not everyone finds the Xmas process easy & if it was my sister I would happily go along with her request if it made her happy.

So she wants you to donate to her charity and she will donate to yours. Is she asking for a set amount donation and some proof of it? Is that what's annoying you. I wouldn't have any problem doing a charity donation, but an amount I decide myself.
I'd just cut her some slack to be honest and agree, it sounds like she is having a difficult time. Edited at 09:07 AM. |

Just tell her you’d prefer the gift vouchers and buy yourself something nice.
No guilt at all, she offered you the choice. |
