We had stainless in our last house but the dull sctrached type. We loved it.

Our current house had tiles - absolutely hated then. Small 4inch ones and grout was awful.

Now have quartz to match worktop and happy with that too.

I think one continuous surface.rather than tiles is easier to clean.

A glass splash back is pretty much the decision we have also made. We haven't actually started looking so cam I ask a couple of questions?
1. Who does the measuring up? Do they come to the house? How does it work buying online?
2. How do they fix to the wall - glue? If so, aren't some of these transparent to show up the paint colour behind - wont the glue show?
3. We are thinking of not just behind the hop, but right across - 2.5m. So a bit of a tetris shape with a higher bit behind the hob. Anyone done this - can it be a single piece of glass?

Thanks.

To answer a few of your questions

1. Some of the big players do measure for you, their risk then.

This is not far from me

treforestglass/splashbacks/

2. I have never fitted plain glass, if you did the glue would show sadly

3. I use Sticks Like ≈≈≈≈. Sorry but thats the trade name not me making it up!

4. The lengths can be huge. Up to 3m I think.

Thank you.

Think that rules out the transparent type for me.

Me too, dh is putting his parts on saying that’s one thing we aren’t having 😡 might try talking him round to a coloured one though as the tile idea and grout has put me off 😉

We thought about getting a splash back but just stuck with the tiles in the end. They clean easy and we like the tile look

Behind the units we have matching upstands and behind the hob glass . I picked an accent colour as the units are grey but could swap it if I wanted a change of colour. Our kitchen has been done over two years and I'm happy with it. Fingermarks on the gloss grey units are an issue but that's all
