height restrictions (with shoes)
my youngest is 123cm just but with his trainers on he is just over 123cm. I know most are 122 or less at disney but I was just wondering is it 122cm ir do they add a bit on to allow for shoes? hes desperate to get on as many as poss!

I never saw a kid take their shoes off to be measured.
I did see a kid get measured for Flight of Passage after they had stood in line for 4 hours. We all held our breath and crossed our fingers. A big cheer erupted from the lines when he was tall enough 🤣 |

He should be fine in the parks but will be measured without shoes (flipflops / water shoes) in the water parks.

I’d be interested in the answer to this too, measured my son today and he’s 39.5 inches. Hoping he’ll grow half an inch before we go...

My son is exactly 123cm (measured at home several times as he was desperate to do Forbidden Journey). He has now done it 5 times (we are staying in RPR) and has only been meaasured once. He was way above the line so either their measurement is out or he is taller than I thought!

I'm not sure if 122cm is actually 122cm or 122cm + something for the soles (although I don't believe that to be the case), but if your little person is close to the marker then you might find they get on some things but not others with the same height restrictions!
Our DS was in that position a few years ago and some of the markers he was just under and refused access to, others he made it on. Same shoes etc.. was very frustrating! |

From our experience the measuring sticks are exactly the height they state. There was a picture I found on a blog a couple of years back where someone had actually taken pictures with a measuring tapes showing the height of the sticks
I went with the view to measure at home in bare feet and go with that. One of mine was juuuuuuust shy of 42" (for four of the Universal rides) without shoes at home but was easily hitting the sticks at the park. Top tips - get them to practice standing up straight and tall. If there are any rides that might be hit or miss, go in the morning when everyone is actually slightly taller that later in the day ETA: Found the article. It was actually regarding Disney's height measuring sticks but I would hazard a guess at Universal being the same. They found they were all very accurate.
